Licensing system
The price depends on our licensing system and is related to:
- Development (interpreted), Deployment (compiled)
- Monoposte and/or Clients Server and the number of clients
- Unlimited runtime for deployment, with a specific license, that works for ever on compiled databases
- Every license is attached to a 4D serial product or a 4D company name
- An EOM yearly subscription exists with you can develop and deploy without any limitations for a same 4D license "company" field

Development monoposte
You need a license for your 4D Developer (Mono), Mac and Win. It is associated to a 4D serial product, and runs only in interpreted hosts.
Development multipostes or server
You need a license for as many 4D Developer (Mono) or 4D server, Mac and Win in your Company. It is associated to your 4D serial company name, and runs only in interpreted hosts.
Deployment Runtime Volume
You need this license to unlimited Deployment of Single User Applications (4D Runtime Volume License), for windows and/or macintosh. It is associated to your 4D serial, and runs only in compiled hosts.
Deployment Server
You need this license for each deployment of a server application (4D server engine), for windows or macintosh. It is associated to your 4D serial, and runs only in compiled hosts. The price is for each client, with a price per client for 1 to 4, 5 to 9, then 10 and more. Don't hesitate to contact us for pricing discussion.
OEM License
An OEM-License is an unlimited development and deployment license for Servers and Single User Applications. With an OEM license you will always get all updates to major and minor versions, as an OEM License is renewed yearly. If an OEM license is not renewed, you are not allowed to deliver customers with our components and the interpreted hosts will be in demo mode, but existing compiled deployments will continue to run as if there were licensed. The license is associated to your "company" field of your 4D license.
Updating your licenses
Each non yearly license is for the main current version, that is supposed to live 3 years. An update license updates from one main version to the current last main version. E. g. if you already have a license, and you buy an update, you will get the last version for 30% the plain price, per year you bought and use your license.
Maintenance program

With the Yearly maintenance program, you’ll get the latest in our components, save time, save money, and focus on doing what you do best and keep yourself completely up-to-date with our product cycle. By updating your solutions in step with our releases, you can follow a moderate, gradual upgrade plan and save yourself time and effort. As soon as a new main version of your product is available, it’s yours at no additional cost. This maintenance is at a yearly 25% of the plain price.
